The 39th Ryder Cup Matches will be held September 28–30, 2012, at the Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois, United States.[1] It will be the first time Illinois has staged the competition. Europe will be the defending Cup holder, having defeated the USA by 14½ points to 13½ in the 2010 competition at Celtic Manor Resort, Wales.[2]
The team captains will be Davis Love III for the USA[3] and José María Olazábal for Europe
U.S. Ryder Cup Team 
The PGA Championship was the final qualifying event for eight Americans to earn their way onto the Ryder Cup team with points. Four captain's picks will be announced Sept. 4. Tiger Woods led the qualifiers.
Jason Dufner has won twice this year.
Bubba Watson is the Masters champion.
Keegan Bradley has won once this season and has 11 top-25 finishes.
Webb Simpson took the U.S. Open at the Olympic Club.
Zach Johnson also has two wins this season.
Matt Kuchar won the Players Championship in May.
Phil Mickelson has struggled of late but held onto the eighth spot in the standings.
On Tuesday, captain Davis Love III announced his four captain's picks for the 2012 U.S. Ryder Cup team. Dustin Johnson was one of the four chosen and will be making his second Ryder Cup appearance.
Veteran Jim Furyk was also selected by Captain Love.
Brandt Snedeker will be making his first Ryder Cup appearance.
Steve Stricker, another captain's pick, has often been paired with Tiger Woods in the Ryder Cup.
